About the profession

Medical care is one of the most popular specialties of the medical profile. With each stage in the history of mankind, medicine has developed rapidly. To understand the secrets of the body’s biological processes, to learn the mechanisms of influence that prevent the occurrence of certain diseases, to master the skills and techniques of helping the patient – isn’t it interesting?
Students are trained not only to treat patients, correctly diagnose various diseases, but also to carry out preventive and educational work among the population.

Educational process

The structure of the specialty program includes a mandatory basic part and a variable (optional disciplines). The basic part consists of Humanities (philosophy, bioethics, history of medicine, law) and biomedical disciplines (human anatomy, physiology, Microbiology, pharmacology). From the fourth year of training, the focus is on professional disciplines (obstetrics and gynecology, Pediatrics, internal diseases, infectious diseases, surgery, anesthesiology, etc.)
The curriculum for this specialty consists not only of lectures and seminars, but also of working out skills, both on simulation equipment, and working with patients in University clinics and practice bases.
During the entire period of study, the student must develop the ability to abstract thinking, analysis of cause-and-effect relationships and synthesis of a huge amount of information.

Practice

The practice of students is an essential part of the training of personnel in the health care system and is an integral part of the educational process. From the first year of training, the program (curriculum) includes training and production practices. The main task of industrial practice is to obtain and improve practical knowledge and skills of future doctors in patient care, diagnosis and treatment of patients, familiarity with the organization and working conditions of secondary medical personnel and doctors in hospitals and medical centers.
