Lantronix DeviceInstaller¶
Assign IP.
Assign a specific IP address».
Assign».
Lantronix ComPortRedirector¶
Add Rx Port.
Com 2 tests».

These command line utilities can be used to troubleshoot DeviceInstaller (DI) issues. Type the command with no arguments for a Usage message. These are stand-alone utilities, no installation is required:
Utility | Comment |
dsearch | Searches for Lantronix device servers on the local network using DI search broadcasts |
dping | «pings» Lantronix device servers on the local network using DI search protocol |
dlisten | Listens for DI search broadcasts on the local network |
Device Installer does not include firmware
To download firmware for your Lantronix product, Click Here.
To configure, go to the Control Panel, go to Network Settings, select the corresponding network adapter, choose Properties, and go to the Advanced tab.
For most current Lantronix device servers, only port 30718 must be added as an Exception. If you are using the DeviceInstaller with legacy device servers such as the MSSs, add exceptions for 43282 and 43283.
If the connection is between two different sites you may also need to allow these ports access through the corporate firewall. As Device installer only detects units on the local subnet.

Com Port Redirector (CPR) is software that maps ‘virtual COM’ ports on a PC platform. It redirects application data destined to an attached device via the PC’s local serial (COM) port. Rather than going out the local port, the data is transmitted across the Ethernet network using TCP/IP. A device server attached to the network receives the data and transfers it from its own serial port to the attached equipment.
